Arm Lift

Does the underside of your upper arms have sagging, droopy skin? Does it hang loose due to excessive skin and fat? Or have you recently lost weight and now have some uncomfortably loose skin under your arms? An upper arm lift (brachioplasty) can reduce the excess skin and underlying fat that occurs between your underarm region and your elbow, reshaping your arm to have smoother skin and a more toned, proportionate appearance.

While fitness may strengthen and improve underlying muscle tone of the upper arm, it cannot address excess skin that has lost elasticity or underlying weakened tissues and localized fat deposits. An arm lift will address those issues. The trade-off to your improved image is a resulting scar on the inside of your upper arm. The best candidates for successful arm lift surgery have loose, sagging skin that is usually the result of age or weight loss. But, if your arms are bigger than you would like them to be and appear firm and plump, you may want to consider liposuction.

If you’re ready for liposuction surgery, it’s time to discuss your goals with Robert Schmid, M.D. He will explain your options and diffuse any concerns you may have about cosmetic surgery as he explains the procedure to you and answers your questions regarding plastic surgery. He’ll take into account your lifestyle, goals and personal preferences in tandem with his sound, experienced surgical judgment when making recommendations to you. He will answer your questions and explain the entire process, working hard to diffuse any worries or concerns you may have.

For your reference, we’ve provided basic information on the procedure (in the box entitled “Arm Lift at a Glance”) as well as arm lift before and after photos so you can see examples of Dr. Schmid’s work.
