Dr. Robert Schmid is a board-certified plastic surgeon who was elected into the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in 2007. He received additional training in breast reconstruction at the MD Anderson Clinic in Houston and has performed thousands of cosmetic procedures including breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, breast implants and breast reconstruction.

Breast Augmentation & Enlargement
If you are dissatisfied with the appearance of your breasts as a result of age, deformity, injury or illness, breast augmentation is for you. This procedure can surgically improve breast appearance or create the appearance of a healthy, full breast where one may be missing or disfigured due to trauma, heredity or congenital abnormalities. Dr. Schmid specializes in performing cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, helping to increase or restore your self-confidence.
Breast Implants
Breast enlargement is for you if you have always wanted to have larger breasts. Breast enlargement can increase fullness and projection of your breasts, improve the balance of your figure, and enhance your self-image and self-confidence. By inserting an implant behind each breast, Dr. Schmid is able to increase your bust line by one or more bra cup sizes in a tasteful way that won’t cause others to treat you differently.
Breast Implant Exchange
Breast implant exchange may be for you if you have had a negative physical reaction to your implants, you would like to return to your pre-surgery body shape or you have found your breast implants to be a hindrance to your daily life. Through a simple medical procedure, Dr. Schmid can easily remove your implants, allowing you to return to your life as it was before you received your implants, or replace the old with new ones to correct complications or problems.
Breast Lift
Have pregnancy, nursing and the force of gravity taken their toll on your breasts? As skin loses its elasticity, breasts often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag.
With a breast lift, Dr. Schmid can raise and reshape your sagging breasts. In conjunction with a breast lift, he can reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding your nipple, and he can increase the firmness and size of your breasts with after-pregnancy breast implants.
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction is for you if you have very large breasts may that cause you to experience pain caused by the excessive weight (including back and neck pain, skin irritation, skeletal deformities and breathing problems). Dr. Schmid will remove fat, glandular tissue and skin from your breasts to make them smaller, lighter and firmer, and he will reduce the size of the areola. His goal is to give you smaller, better-shaped breasts in proportion with the rest of your body.
Male Breast Reduction
Men, are you embarrassed to take off your shirt at the beach? Do you dread looking at yourself in the mirror? Or are you always aware of the look of your chest when you are choosing clothing? You may have Gynecomastia, the condition of overdeveloped or enlarged breasts, common in men of any age. Dr. Schmid can surgically treat this embarrassing condition by removing excess fat, glandular tissue and/or skin. The result is a better proportioned, more masculine-contoured upper body and the freedom and self-confidence to lead an active life.
Breast Reconstruction
Are you a breast cancer survivor longing to reclaim your natural shape and confidence in your health and your appearance? Breast reconstruction surgery following the removal of a breast because of cancer can be one of the most confidence-inspiring surgeries you can undergo. Dr. Schmid will decide which of the many new advancements in reconstructive techniques will be the most beneficial to you and will work closely with your other doctors to determine the optimum course of action.
TRAM Flap Breast Reconstruction
If you have had a mastectomy and your remaining chest tissue has been damaged or is not suitable for tissue expansion, TRAM (Transverse Rectus Abdominus Musculocutaneous Flap) breast reconstruction may be your best option for a new breast. During this procedure, Dr. Schmid will use muscle, fat and skin from your abdomen to create a new breast mound and replace tissue in the chest area. An advantage over implantation, symmetry can be improved without altering the unaffected breast and you’ll have a tighter lower abdomen.
