Birthmark Removal
Do you have a prominent or bothersome birthmark on your body? While some birthmarks aren’t noticeable or troublesome, some are large, painful, prominently located or even unhealthy. If you’re self-conscious about your birthmark, skin tag removal will restore your self-esteem and reduce the possibility of any associated health risks.
There are a few different types of birthmarks, including Hemangiomas, Telangiectasia and Cherry Angiomas. Hemangiomas are blood vessel malformations that occur during fetal development. Telangiectasia is a diffuse pattern of spider veins and/or “flush” appearance to the overlying skin. Cherry Angiomas are bright purple, magenta or red spots that occur most commonly on the torso. They are usually seen in older patients and may be the result of a weakness in the blood vessel walls causing a small bubble or hernia in the wall of the vessel.
The best way to remove a birthmark is with a series of laser treatments. A variety of lasers can diminish the color, size and/or shape of your birthmark. However, steroids or direct surgical removal may be a better option for your situation.
